World Cup 2010

Congratulations Spain for their best performance. They really did a good job and deserve the title. Since Spain is the World Champion I could see almost everybody were wearing spain's red jersey. Maybe they were so excited with the winning of their favourite team. I'm not a huge fan of football but, I did watch some games with my hubby. It was nice to have something to do with your soulmate. He was a football player back in our school days. So, sharing his interest made us a better couple each and everyday. During the World Cup month, we were talking and discussing everything about football. Which was not a hard thing for me because back in 2002 World Cup when I was working as a waitress in Restoran Rasa Utara, I read and watched almost every game ( at that time the games were aired on RTM's tv) just to make sure every customer who came to dine in our restaurant can get all the answers they wanted to know esp 'who's leading?', 'who's scored the goal?', and etc. By answering their question, I felt so happy!

NT Scan

Arggh!!! I almost injured my muscle while doing the NT scan just now. I had 2 patients with thick adiposity which cost me a real struggle to get the right angle for NT. Unfortunately, I couldn't press too hard because of the previous scar. So, I only managed to get 1 good NT fro a really skinny patient (:o) and the other two, I just had to ask them to come again later this week hoping that luck will be on my side to get the Nt and get it done!

WelcomeTo Our Fetomaternal Centre...

Last Friday, we have a good new. The department is giving us a new staff. So, that means our burdens can be share with the new sonographer. Since she is new and we have just a few cases that day, I spent my evening call to explain to her how our work flow is. Actually, for some people they think working as a sonographer in the government hospital might be a little stressful. Yes, if we look at the workloads we have everyday and we have to plan our courses and leaves really careful so that it doesn't jeopardise others. I could see in her eyes that she may face a real hard time to do this job. So, I told her the best and the worst scenarios that possibly may happens so that she will face it calmly. Whatever it is, when she finds the fun of doing this job she will be so happy to be chosen as one of our sonographer. So, I welcome her to our centre and hoping that she will do her best to keep up with the responsibility in helping the nations. :o)

Entrapment...

I'd just finished doing my details scan when I was trapped in the elevator. It took about 5 minutes for me to noticed that I was trapped in it. I thought someone is just fooling around with the elevator. But, when it went up and down  faster and faster continously, my heart began to pumping real fast. Maybe as fast as the elevator..My knee felt weak and I almost panicked! Suddenly my genius side took over my body and I press the button and tell the operator what is going on. It still didn't stop until I guess 10 minutes, the doors were opened and I quickly rushed out. I was as pale as Edward Cullen at that time. But thank God I'm still in one piece. Alhamdulillah~

Toshiba Aplio

Back to work after 2 days at home taking care of my son. He's better now and he has developed a new skill since then...make jokes....But the most important thing is he is 100% well. I've got 6 cases for detail scan today. Thanks to Kak Anson, she gave me one-to-one hands on lesson which I really appreciated them. She even taught me how to get better images using Toshiba Apllio since the innitial setting was a bit rough and foggy. After her magic touch, suddenly the Aplio is what every sonographer wants...Next time I will share some of the images from Aplio...

Feeling Sad...:o(

I feel like a zombie. Afzal is not well. He is having high fever, bad cough and cold. It has been 3 days and he doesn't seem to get any better. What makes me confuse is he was very active from the morning until the evening. But when the night came, he will be so tired and the temperature increase real bad...I think I'm gonna take him to the specialist tomorrow meaning I won't be able to go to work. I need to ask someone to do my task tomorrow which I don't really like to do so but, I can't do my work when my son is not well. I really can't focus on something else but him. I really really wish he will get better as soon as possible...Amin...

Adenomyosis

Adenomyosis is a medical condition characterized by the presence of ectopic glandular tissue found in muscle.[1] The term adenomyosis is derived from the terms adeno- (meaning gland), myo- (meaning muscle), and -osis (meaning condition). Previously named as endometriosis interna, adenomyosis actually different from endometriosis and these two disease entities are found together in only 10% of the cases [2].
It usually refers to ectopic endometrial tissue (the inner lining of the uterus) within the myometrium (the thick, muscular layer of the uterus). The term "adenomyometritis" specifically implies involvement of the uterus.[3][4]
The condition is typically found in women between the ages of 35 and 50. Patients with adenomyosis can have painful and/or profuse menses (dysmenorrhea & menorrhagia, respectively). However, because the endometrial glands can be trapped in the myometrium, it is possible to have increased pain without increased blood. (This can be used to distinguish adenomyosis from endometrial hyperplasia; in the latter condition, increased bleeding is more common.)
In adenomyosis, basal endometrium penetrates into hyperplastic myometrial fibers. Therefore, unlike functional layer, basal layer does not undergo typical cyclic changes with menstrual cycle [5].
Adenomyosis may involve the uterus focally, creating an adenomyoma. With diffuse involvement, the uterus becomes bulky and heavier.

O&G Nite I Like!!

Last nite was a huge blast. So glad that almost everyone were putting their best effort in finding a unique costume. Although not everyone were following the theme but at least they come up with something different. The food is way better than last year. We had chinese dinner with 8 course starting with cold platter for appetiser. then, we had roasted chicken, butter prawn, mushroom and brocolli, fried seabass, glutionous fried rice, crab soup and for dessert we had laici kang with lotus and red bean pastri. Even my son enjoyed the food so much. I couldn't barely sit after eating so much good food. The performance from all the team of doctors and nurses and attendants were very hillarious. Made my husband laugh so loud. (My husband is a serious type of man..it's hard to crack a joke in front of him). The lucky number gifts were not much maybe they didn't get enough sponsors from the supplier. But overall the dinner was 4 stars! What made me so happy is that my son was so happy running here and there in the banquet hall. Never once he throw tantrum and that made me so happy last nite.

O&G Nite

Tonite, we'll be having an annual dinner with Superhero theme. I think Im going to be the GI Jane.that is the easiest costume I can prepare with no cost at all. My husband will be the Rambo and my son will be Ben 10 which he cry scarily at the first time we introduce him to the Ben 10's dagger and watch. Which made me so shock to learnt that after all this time me and my husband had successfully isolate him from watching any superhero cartoon to avoid him from being extra hyperactive...And you know what??? His favourite VCDs are Barney and Friends and Proncess and The frog! Owh My Goodness! What have I done to my son??? And one more thing, while we were busily shopping for his Ben 10 things...He accidently ( I hope! really desperately hopes) picked up a pair of pink shoes and show them to me...HAHAHAHA! my husband and I was laughing like nobody bussiness at him and people must be wondering what the hell had happened....Well, hipefully we had fun tonite. The best thing is I got a nice table with a bunch of nice frens to share the happy moment tonite...far from those who never appreciate their frens....

Oral Surgery....18-20th may 2010

Today, i'm going to have a nice rest at home after 3 days in ward to recuperate myself (but staying in the Ward Warga is a bless too..they are all very kind to me and I really appreciate that..:o)). I had a complication with my teeth. Too small jaw for big teeth that's what the dentist said. So they (teeth) came out pretty messy and made me suffer with ulcers, bleeding gum etc for almost every month. I really can't take it anymore..My mouth start to have bad breath and all. So I decided to go to PPUKM's Maxillofacial and Orthodontic KCKL. So here I am today. Can only consume cold drinks and porridge for a while. So, In a mean time, I wouldn't be able to update my blogs for a while. But I'll be back pretty soon. bye!

p/s: I'm in my office rite now and i've got to go back to the ward.  They may be looking for me..hehehe..
