LVOT- Left Ventricular Outflow Track

Left Ventricular Outflow Track is the passage where the blood flow out from left ventricle to Aorta.
This is one of the structure we should look for when we do fetal heart scan. Why is it so important? because when we manage to get this view, it mean the fetus is free from TGA..
for the normal fetal heart, LVOT is suppose to be from Left Ventricle to aorta but when there is a transposition of great arteries (TGA), what happen is, instead of going to aorta, it is connected to pulmonari artery as you may seen in the diagram below (credit to wikipedia).. about the TGA, do click on the link to read in wikipedia..

Hi guys, It took me a week to post this job vacancy. It is not that I keep this to myself but because of too busy with my apps task and locum, everything can easily slipped form my mind. Doppler To Confirm Viable Pregnancy?

It has been a while since I last updated this blog and during that period I have actually met or contacted by a lot of readers who are interested in sonography and I'm very much appreciate the time all of you have spent to visit my humble blog. And I'm so happy that my passion in writing about sonography had actually benefit so many people in so many ways. So, today during my boring stay in Silka Hotel used to be known as Dorsett Johor Hotel, I wanted to share about doppler with you guys..

I've been working as an Application Specialist for almost 2 years now promoting Toshiba Ultrasound and when I talk about doppler scanning, general practitioner always ask me the best reason why they need doppler. So, it's easy... All GP's will need to scan early pregnancy as they are the first place all pregnant ladies will looking for to seek their advice and also to confirm the pregnancy. So, by using doppler, we can actually detect the fetal heart as the doppler will capture the blood flow in the heart. Don't believe it? Look at the image below...

Why Colour Doppler is Important?

To all sonographers out there, doppler is never a new thing. It can be very useful in so many ways and very valuable in increasing our level of confidence in sending out a report.

Why use doppler? Doppler is actually an application which is widely use to detect the flow..in medical ultrasound, we use it to see the flow of vessels. Why is it important? Because we can differentiate between blood vessels and ducts. Nowadays, almost all medium low range system packed up with this application. And of course for end users who are new to this they have to learn this in advanced workshop. But it is not difficult to pick up this new skill but this will make you love your job more and the challenges won't let you stay monotonic in your working hours..trust me!
